Grandma's French Toast With Cinnamon Essential Oil
It is summer and I love not having to be anywhere by a specific time. I am enjoying spending more time with my children and I love to cook for them. This morning, I decided on French Toast for breakfast with some bacon. I have an old family recipe from my grandmother that is simple and I love it. I was out of cinnamon so I decided to use Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil and it worked out just great. The kids loved it.

Homemade Ice Cream in Ziploc Bags
We are in full swing of summer, the kids are out of school, it is hot outside and we are ready for ice cream. Our community is doing this great program called Heber City Unplugged, maybe your community is doing it as well. If not it is something to look into.
The goal of the Unplugged program is to keep kids off of electronics over the summer and get the kids out in the community where they can earn brag tags and get entered into drawings for cash. We have gotten six tags so far and one of them was for making homemade ice cream. I don't have an ice cream maker. We were going to go over to my girlfriends and make it there but it didn't happen. I went online to see what I could do without an ice cream maker and I have to share with you all what I found.
Some of you this may be old news, but new to us and we had a blast making it! There are tons of recipes and ideas on the Internet so feel free to look around for other recipes and ideas and please share. I can't wait to do this when we go camping. My 7 year old told me they did this in his class this year. I really enjoy the idea of adding Essential Oils for flavoring. Tangerine is what we used here, but you could use peppermint for mint ice cream, lemon or wild orange for citrus flavors.
