Calming and Centering October Full Moon Ritual

Calming and Centering Ritual - October Full Moon Ritual

CALMING and CENTERING FULL MOON Ritual. The Full Moon in October is the the Taurus Full Moon which falls on October 24th, this full moon is going to help us to find our strength. This is the strength that comes when we align with our center and remain calm and open, even in situations that are volatile or difficult.
This Full Moon is not necessarily going to conjure up challenges for you, but it may highlight and expose your triggers and you could find yourself feeling off balance or out of sorts.
As an Earth sign, Taurus energy wants us to be grounded and stable, it wants us to be strong so we can build and create towers as tall and as magnificent as the sky. Essential oils for Strength are Frankincense, Cedarwood and Rose.
Doing this ritual is going to get those energies flowing of the Taurus Full Moon. It is also going to guide you to find your calm and align with your center with yourself. 


Full Moon Ritual for Calming and Centering


This ritual is best done right after a shower or a bath, it can be done morning or night. The energies are strongest for this ritual from October 21- November 4, 2018, however you can do it anytime that feels right for you. 
You will need:
·         Smudging Tool of choice
·         One Candle
·         Handful of Leaves or flowers, dried or live
·         1 Piece of Paper and a Pen
·         Essential Oils
Directions:

1. Begin by smudging your aura and surroundings using the mantras below. As you smudge your aura recite the following-

“I am cleansing myself light and free. I am cleansing myself so I can be me. I am cleansing away the struggles of my past, I am cleansing and opening my heart. My heart is now open and I am aligned. My heart is now open and I am aligned.”
As you smudge your surroundings recite the following-

“I cleanse this space with light and loving energy. Only positive energy may enter this space. I cleanse this space with light and loving energy. It is safe for me to dwell here, it is safe for me to call this space home. My home is cleansed and I am renewed. My home is cleansed and I am renewed.”

2. Next, start by putting a few drops of essential oil of choice in your diffuser. . I really like earthy oils for this ritual, like Frankincense, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Cedarwood, Arborvitae, Douglas Fir, Siberian Fir, Cypress.  But you can use whatever you have on hand. Light your candle and place it on the floor or on a table in front of you.


3. Take your piece of paper and draw either a triangle, circle or heart on it. Choose whichever symbol speaks to you the most. To help you with this choice, triangles represent the mind, the body, and the spirit. Circles represent wholeness or completion, and hearts represent love. If you wish, you can also draw another symbol that has special meaning for you.

4. Place your candle on top of your symbol. Try to place the candle so it is in the middle of the symbol. Take your leaves or flowers, and place them around the paper so it looks pretty. (Part of ritual work is the beauty of it too!)

5. Take a deep breath to settle yourself. If you are sitting at a table, be sure that your feet are flat on the floor. If you are on the floor, try to sit up cross-legged so you feel rooted and connected to the ground.

6. Place your hands over your heart center. You can also place them over your belly. Again, just use your instincts as to where you are going to place them. Close your eyes and take 10 deep breaths here.
7. Now take one of the flowers/leaves in your left hand with palm facing up. Look at the leaf/flower and repeat the following three times- 

“The energy of mother earth guides me as to what I need to release.”

8. Now take your hands in prayer position so the leaf/flower is wedged between both hands. Close your eyes and breath deeply here. Repeat to yourself the mantra again as best as you can remember.

9. Still holding your leaf/flower, stand up and shake out your body. As you shake imagine you are releasing and letting go of any anxiety, any frustrations, any pains, any hurts. Just stand up and shake it all out. Keep shaking and moving your body until you feel released and cleansed. Trust that mother earth is helping you to release whatever it is that needs to get out of your body.

10. Sit back down. Take your leaf/flower that’s in your hand and exhale into it. Imagine exhaling the last of any anxieties, frustrations or hurts. Just blow it all out into the leaf/flower- it can handle it!

11. Place that leaf/flower off to the side and pick up another one. Hold it in your right hand this time with palm facing up. Look at the leaf/flower and repeat the following three times-

“The energy of mother earth supports and nourishes my soul.”

12. Once again, bring your hands to prayer position. Close your eyes and take 9 deep breaths. 9 is the number of completion. On your 10th inhale open your eyes, look at the leaf/flower in your hand and imagine inhaling beautiful, supportive energy from mother earth. Imagine that breath coming into your body and supporting and nourishing your soul.

13. Place that flower/leaf off to the side with the other one you just used.

14. Now gaze upon your candle, and with hands in prayer position repeat the following or feel free to say whatever you feel in the moment-

“I call on my highest spiritual guides and angels to help me stay in my center and stay in my calm. I know that mother earth is always guiding and protecting me and I thank her for that. I thank you all divine spirits who have joined me in this ritual today and have aided and supported me on my journey so far. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

15. Blow out the candle. You can keep the symbol, candle and the leaves/flowers as decoration on your altar, or you can discard the flowers/leaves in the garden and recycle the paper- whatever you wish.

For the two leaves/flowers that you worked with during this ritual, be sure to bury them in the garden, drop them off the top off a hill/building into the wind, or toss them in the ocean as soon as possible after completing this ritual.

August 2018 Full Moon Ritual ~ Pisces

This is my favorite time of the month. If you haven’t yet, start paying attention to the moon cycles. I have noticed I am sensitive before the full moon, and my husband is sensitive during the new moon. Pay attention and see how the moon cycles effect you. It is fun and you learn a lot about yourself and others. 

This is one of the best full moons this year! This full moon will help ease any intensities brought by the recent string of Eclipses and retrogrades. No matter what is going on, the energy of this Full Moon is going to ensure that we are safe and protected.

This full moon is here to shine the light on the darkness, it is here to illuminate our fears and insecurities, it is here to guide us and activate our feminine side and to remind us of our oneness.

Enjoy this calm and restorative energy of this full moon. The vibration makes it a perfect time for ritual work. It is time to dive into your spirituality and activate your intuition and creativity.

Pisces Full Moon Bathing Ritual 
This ritual can is best done from August 26-September 2, 2018
This is a bathing ritual, if you don’t have a bath, simply combine the ingredients in a jug to pour on yourself in the shower



You will need:
·         Flower Petals (fresh or dried)
·         Sea Salt or Himalayan Salt 
·         Essential Oils – Lavender, Restful Blend, Invigorating Blend, Bergamot, ylang ylang, cedarwood, geranium, vetiver, rose, frankincense, sandalwood, clary sage, marjoram, grounding blend.
·         Your favorite crystal
·         Smudging tool of choice (eg. sage, palo santo) I love the Palo Santo Sticks
·         Candles (optional)
.
Directions:
1.     Begin with smudging yourself and your surroundings. For more detailed information on how to do this read this. As you smudge recite the following mantra or write your own-
“Everything is as it needs to be for I am light and love. I am right where I need to be for I am light and love. As I accept, I cleanse, and as I cleanse, I am free. I am light and love.”

2.     Start running the bath water and take the salt in your hand. As you sprinkle the salt recite the following mantra or feel free to write your own-
“This salt cleanses and purifies me. It heals my wounds. It cleanses and releases anything that is no longer serving me.”

Next add the flower petals while reciting the following mantra-
“These flower petals add sweetness and love. I love myself and I am gentle with myself. I have come so far, and I am proud of myself for all that I have achieved.”

Last, add a few drops of essential oil while reciting the following mantra-
“This oil signifies that I am right where I need to be. I accept my life. I accept where I am and know that I have the strength and confidence to make changes. This oil will open me up to receiving guidance on the next steps I can take to make my life even better.”

Surround your bath with crystals or have them nearby, light some candles to create a calm and relaxed ambiance.
3. Imagine the salt, flowers, and essential oils working their magic and restoring your mind, body, and soul. Take some deep breaths, unwind, relax, let go, and trust.
4. Breathe deeply, place your hands over your heart, and keep repeating “thank you” to yourself. Do it at least 10 times. Thank yourself, your body, your mind, your spirit, your organs, your lungs, thank every inch of your beautiful self.

5. With eyes closed, try to still your mind. Try to release any thoughts. Try not to engage with any thoughts that come through. Keep your mind still and just listen. Focus on listening to the rise and fall of your breath.
If this is too hard to do or you find yourself getting distracted, focus instead on 10 things you feel grateful for in your life. Really feel into them and allow the emotions to course through your body.
6. When you are ready to get out of the bath, give thanks to yourself, to the bath water, to the Moon, and to the Universe.
7. Once out of the bath hold onto your crystal and rub it gently to get the energy flowing. Open the palm of your hand and blow onto the crystal. Imagine you are blowing all the beautiful energies you soaked up from your bath into the crystal.
8. Drain the bath water, discard the flower petals outside, and keep the crystal by your bedside as you sleep. The crystal will remain charged with the beautiful Full Moon energy until the next lunar cycle. Hold onto it and work with its energy whenever you need to feel calm or protected.

    Beating Summer Heat with Essential Oils

    This summer I got so excited to get our trailer out after three years and do some camping. Of course we haven't traveled much and in the beginning of June we went to Las Vegas and hours before we left our sub pump went out. I got it all sorted out and all was good with our amazing plumber before we left.

    The next week after we get home, we go camping and our A/C goes out while we are gone. It has been a week now with no A/C so I looked to my essential oils for cooling and all of this great information just came out in the doTERRA Living Magazine and I am going to share ways to beat the summer heat tips from doTERRA and from me and my families personal experience on what works best for us. So enjoy and learn new ways to stay cool this summer. 

    Stay refreshed even when away from any air-conditioned haven.

    Outdoor Tips
    When you’re having a blast outside, don’t forget these tips:

    Spray Bottle - When taken outside for long periods of time, water in a glass spray
    bottle can quickly warm up and lose its advantage. Counteract this and keep cool by adding in
    refreshing non-citrus oils that will cool you down regardless. Cooling oils include Peppermint, Basil,
    Cardamom, Cilantro, or doTERRA Breathe . An extra tip: when you do go to spray, start with your
    pulse points like your wrists and neck. Spraying these areas will help to cool your whole body more
    quickly. We use aluminum spray bottles which works great when you are camping. 

    Wear the right clothes. Choose fabrics that breathe and allow your sweat to evaporate more
    quickly. These fabrics include cotton, hemp, rayon (if you live in a dry climate), or linen. Moisturewicking
    fabrics (found most often in athletic wear) also have a special weave that makes them more
    permeable, and wick the sweat away.

    Stay hydrated. You need to keep replacing the water you lose through perspiration. Avoid the
    tempting sugary, caffeinated, and alcoholic beverages to avoid dehydrating your body; water is always the best choice when you’re out and about. If you’re looking for added flavor, a drop of Lime,Lemon, Wild Orange, Tangerine, or Grapefruit oils can easily add some variety. You can also re-hydrate with the foods you eat. Try a summer favorite like the appropriately named watermelon.


    Eat lighter meals. Many fruits and vegetables are in season when the weather is hot. (This may
    just be nature’s way of telling us something about keeping cool.) Plants are simply easier for us to
    digest, which in turn produces less heat in your body than digesting a fatty hamburger. It’s a healthy
    way to stay cool, too— incorporating more fruits and veggies into your diet is a good idea no matter
    what your summer plans are.

    Indoor Tips
    When you’re on vacation or even at home, sometimes the air conditioning isn’t there when you need
    it to be. Here are a few ideas for taking some of the pressure off your AC unit, and keeping your bills
    lower:
    Point your fan at an open window. The day’s heat gets trapped inside your home, and can be
    hard to get rid of. Putting the fan facing the window sucks the hot air away and blows it back
    outside. You can use a temperature controller to automatically turn the fan on or off depending on
    the temperature.

    Diffuse oils. Certain oils like Spearmint, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, or doTERRA Breathe possess
    refreshing aromas that can help you feel cool and invigorated. If you live in a dry climate, it will add
    a little moisture to the air as well.

    Use your décor to your advantage. Blinds and curtains block the sun’s rays out and shield your
    space from the heat. Close the windows and use insulated drapes when the sun is out, and open
    them at night to let in the cooler air. If you simply must have an open window, you can also hang a
    damp towel or sheet in front of the window to cool the air coming in.

    Sleep cool. There are a few different options for making your nighttime cooler. Try putting your
    sheets into a plastic bag and putting them in your freezer for a few minutes. When you’re ready for
    bed, put the chilled sheets on your bed and enjoy the cool feeling. Alternately, add a few drops of
    Peppermint to a high-mist glass spray bottle and dampen your top sheet.

    Cool down your body. Take a cool shower or bath when you can’t stand the heat anymore. You
    can also drink iced Peppermint water. We recommend making your ice-cubes using Peppermint by filling your ice tray with water and adding one drop of Peppermint per ice cube.



    Tips for After Sun
    My boys got so sunburn on our first camping trip to the lake. Poor things, but now they know to put sun block on their ankles.
    In a 10 mL roll-on add 5 drops Melaleuca, 5 drops Roman Chamomile, 5 drops Helichrysum, 5
    drops Lavender, and top with Fractionated Coconut oil.
    Add 20 drops Lavender oil to 2 ounces of Fractionated Coconut oil and rub into skin. (Alternately,
    you can add the Lavender to a glass spray bottle with 1 ounce Fractionated Coconut Oil and 1
    ounce of water.)
    Add 5 drops Peppermint to 5 drops Lavender and 4 drops vitamin E oil in a 4-ounce glass spray
    bottle and top with witch hazel.

    I also just recently purchased witch hazel at the drug store. Since our A/C is out we have made spray bottles to keep us cool. We open up the house at night, then shut the windows first thing in the morning. There is about three hours in the late afternoon that is really hot but we are surviving. We also have a basement so it is cool down there.

    French Cucumber Salad


    I love summer and the yummy fresh salads and new recipes. I tried this one and I love it, I had to share. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. 


    This French Cucumber Salad with Marjoram essential oil is healthy, refreshing, and bursting with wholesome, delicious flavors.  




    Ingredients

    1 avocado, diced
    1 tomato, diced
    ½ red onion, sliced
    ½ cucumber, diced
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    1 toothpick Marjoram oil 


    Instructions
    1. Combine avocado, tomato, red onion, and cucumber in bowl. Set aside.
    2. Pour olive oil into small bowl and mix in toothpick dipped in Marjoram essential oil.
    3. Combine olive oil mixture and vegetables.
    4. Add lemon juice and stir.
    5. Top off with salt and serve immediately.

    Let Your Light Shine - May Full Moon Ritual 2018




    The May full moon this month is something to look forward too. In the fiery adventurous sign of Sagittarius is going to be opening our minds, expanding our hearts, and encouraging us to take that leap of faith.

    This Full Moon is really going to help you get in touch with your true desires, and to think about how to upgrade and shift our lives to a new level.

    This ritual really hit home with me. I have been reading a book and it is just interesting how the universe brings everything together. I have been doing a lot of energy work. Light has been coming up a lot in the past few months. Also how each full moon prepares us for the next months transition. Always learning and remembering to be kind and loving. This affirmation is my favorite lately... Love over fear. Love is so healing in any situation. I am so blessed, we all are that we live in an amazing universe of Love and Light!

     By expanding and aligning with the light within, you will always be guided, and you will always have the wisdom and knowledge you need to move forward.

    This months ritual is for Expanding the Light within. 

    My family and I enjoy this sacred time together once a month, we love doing a full moon ritual. It grounds us, we let things go and get ready for what ever is next. This month is a little different, but I have to say we all love this time together.We had a lot of fun doing this ritual, my kids loved burning the paper and putting it in the water. We all liked the blue light and we enjoyed our time together. I love hearing their goals and what they are ready to let go of. Enjoy this time with yourself or loved ones and enjoy the next moon cycle. 

    The best time to do this riutal is May 28 - June 9, 2018

    Are You Ready to Expand the Light Within

    Here is What You will need:

    • Smudging tool of choice (sage, palo santo, incense etc.) I love  white sage
    • 3 Candles
    • Pen and 3 paper (plus more for journaling if you wish)
    • Bowl of water
    • Essential Oils - Rose, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Myrrh, Spikenard, or Lavender
    • Rose Quartz Gem Stone or gem stone of choice


    How to set up the Ritual

    1. Using sage or your method of choice, smudge your surroundings and your aura.  As you smudge, recite the following affirmation. Optional - Ask your Angels, guides to watch over and protect you during this ritual. 
    “As I release I become a true expression of my light. As I cleanse, my light shines brighter than before. As I let go and surrender, the light within me glows. I am a glowing, radiant, white light.”
    2. Next, place your candles in a row and light them. Take three pieces of paper and write one of these words on each paper- “Action”, “Mindset”, “Expression”. Fold up the pieces of paper and shuffle them around so it’s not clear which is which. Leave them to the side for later.
    3. Hold your gemstone in your hand or place in your pocket or by you. Then apply your essential oil of choice over your third eye, behind your neck, and rub hands together and then inhale a deep breath. 
    4. Continue to breath, take 7 deep breaths in and out just to relax and settle into your body. Look at the candles in front of you for a moment and then close your eyes. See the light behind your eyes, and then imagine a beautiful big, ball of blue energy in front of you. See this ball of energy as a magnificent light that is here to nourish, heal and expand you.
    5. As you inhale, imagine breathing in as much of this blue light energy as possible. See the beautiful blue energy going into your body, see it filling you up and nourishing your insides. See it expanding your energy. See the blue ball getting smaller with every inhale. As you exhale, imagine releasing any junk or toxic muck from inside of you. Really push it out of you. 
    6. Keep breathing like this until you have inhaled all of that beautiful blue ball of energy. With your eyes still closed, quietly ask your higher self, spirit guides or guardian angels, to guide you to finding your true light and your true self. When you feel ready, take your three pieces of paper that you wrote on earlier. Shuffle them around and then without looking, choose one paper to go in front of each candle.
    7. Each of your three candles represent the past, present, and future. The word in front of the first candle (the past) represents what you need to let go or release. It represents something that you need to adjust, change, or let go of in order to move forward. The second candle represents the present and what you need to focus on right now. It indicates where you need to put your energy. And the last candle represents the future and what is ahead for you.
    Open up the pieces of paper to see what message is in front of each candle for you.
    For example, “mindset” may indicate there is something in your mindset holding you back or that you need to use your mindset to become more positive or confident. Mindset can also represent clarity, and feeling clearer on a mental level.
    “Action” may indicate that you need to think about your actions before moving ahead, or that you need to stop holding yourself back and take steps to get things moving. Action is very much about adjusting something on a physical level in order to see results and change.
    “Expression”, may indicate that you need to express your truth about something, or to connect with how you are really feeling. It can also indicate creativity and perhaps a time where you can really feel confident to share your ideas and bring them to the table. Expression is also about being true to yourself, and expressing your true self out into the world.
    Use your intuition to guide you to the appropriate meaning for you.
    8. Feel free to journal or write down whatever insights or inspirations are stirred for you. Accept the message, even if it doesn’t make sense to you just yet, and know that more clarity will come in time.
    9.  Take your piece of paper in front of the first candle and burn it while repeating “I am light”. Drop the paper into the bowl of water when it gets too hot. Repeat this for the next two papers, using the corresponding candle.
    10.  Now sit with your hands in prayer position. Close your eyes and feel your beautiful energy radiating around you. See the blue light that has filled and nourished you. Feel the message you received about your past, present, and future. When ready, repeat this mantra or write your own-
    “Thank you for now I am filled. Thank you for now I know the way. Light is within me, around me, and flows through me. I will spread light. I will be light. I am light.” 

    Continue to wear or keep the rose quartz crystal near you, drop your favorite essential oil on it, as a reminder to keep the loving light flowing. Happy Full Moon, Enjoy!
