Let Your Light Shine - May Full Moon Ritual 2018

The May full moon this month is something to look forward too. In the fiery adventurous sign of Sagittarius is going to be opening our minds, expanding our hearts, and encouraging us to take that leap of faith.

This Full Moon is really going to help you get in touch with your true desires, and to think about how to upgrade and shift our lives to a new level.

This ritual really hit home with me. I have been reading a book and it is just interesting how the universe brings everything together. I have been doing a lot of energy work. Light has been coming up a lot in the past few months. Also how each full moon prepares us for the next months transition. Always learning and remembering to be kind and loving. This affirmation is my favorite lately... Love over fear. Love is so healing in any situation. I am so blessed, we all are that we live in an amazing universe of Love and Light!

By expanding and aligning with the light within, you will always be guided, and you will always have the wisdom and knowledge you need to move forward.

This months ritual is for Expanding the Light within.

My family and I enjoy this sacred time together once a month, we love doing a full moon ritual. It grounds us, we let things go and get ready for what ever is next. This month is a little different, but I have to say we all love this time together. We had a lot of fun doing this ritual, my kids loved burning the paper and putting it in the water. We all liked the blue light and we enjoyed our time together. I love hearing their goals and what they are ready to let go of. Enjoy this time with yourself or loved ones and enjoy the next moon cycle.

The best time to do this riutal is May 28 - June 9, 2018

Are You Ready to Expand the Light Within

Here is What You will need:

  • Smudging tool of choice (sage, palo santo, incense etc.) I love  white sage
  • 3 Candles
  • Pen and 3 paper (plus more for journaling if you wish)
  • Bowl of water
  • Essential Oils - Rose, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Myrrh, Spikenard, or Lavender
  • Rose Quartz Gem Stone or gem stone of choice

How to set up the Ritual

1. Using sage or your method of choice, smudge your surroundings and your aura.  As you smudge, recite the following affirmation. Optional - Ask your Angels, guides to watch over and protect you during this ritual.
“As I release I become a true expression of my light. As I cleanse, my light shines brighter than before. As I let go and surrender, the light within me glows. I am a glowing, radiant, white light.”
2. Next, place your candles in a row and light them. Take three pieces of paper and write one of these words on each paper- “Action”, “Mindset”, “Expression”. Fold up the pieces of paper and shuffle them around so it’s not clear which is which. Leave them to the side for later.
3. Hold your gemstone in your hand or place in your pocket or by you. Then apply your essential oil of choice over your third eye, behind your neck, and rub hands together and then inhale a deep breath.
4. Continue to breath, take 7 deep breaths in and out just to relax and settle into your body. Look at the candles in front of you for a moment and then close your eyes. See the light behind your eyes, and then imagine a beautiful big, ball of blue energy in front of you. See this ball of energy as a magnificent light that is here to nourish, heal and expand you.
5. As you inhale, imagine breathing in as much of this blue light energy as possible. See the beautiful blue energy going into your body, see it filling you up and nourishing your insides. See it expanding your energy. See the blue ball getting smaller with every inhale. As you exhale, imagine releasing any junk or toxic muck from inside of you. Really push it out of you.
6. Keep breathing like this until you have inhaled all of that beautiful blue ball of energy. With your eyes still closed, quietly ask your higher self, spirit guides or guardian angels, to guide you to finding your true light and your true self. When you feel ready, take your three pieces of paper that you wrote on earlier. Shuffle them around and then without looking, choose one paper to go in front of each candle.
7. Each of your three candles represent the past, present, and future. The word in front of the first candle (the past) represents what you need to let go or release. It represents something that you need to adjust, change, or let go of in order to move forward. The second candle represents the present and what you need to focus on right now. It indicates where you need to put your energy. And the last candle represents the future and what is ahead for you.
Open up the pieces of paper to see what message is in front of each candle for you.
For example, “mindset” may indicate there is something in your mindset holding you back or that you need to use your mindset to become more positive or confident. Mindset can also represent clarity, and feeling clearer on a mental level.
“Action” may indicate that you need to think about your actions before moving ahead, or that you need to stop holding yourself back and take steps to get things moving. Action is very much about adjusting something on a physical level in order to see results and change.
“Expression”, may indicate that you need to express your truth about something, or to connect with how you are really feeling. It can also indicate creativity and perhaps a time where you can really feel confident to share your ideas and bring them to the table. Expression is also about being true to yourself, and expressing your true self out into the world.
Use your intuition to guide you to the appropriate meaning for you.
8. Feel free to journal or write down whatever insights or inspirations are stirred for you. Accept the message, even if it doesn’t make sense to you just yet, and know that more clarity will come in time.
9.  Take your piece of paper in front of the first candle and burn it while repeating “I am light”. Drop the paper into the bowl of water when it gets too hot. Repeat this for the next two papers, using the corresponding candle.
10.  Now sit with your hands in prayer position. Close your eyes and feel your beautiful energy radiating around you. See the blue light that has filled and nourished you. Feel the message you received about your past, present, and future. When ready, repeat this mantra or write your own-
“Thank you for now I am filled. Thank you for now I know the way. Light is within me, around me, and flows through me. I will spread light. I will be light. I am light.”

Continue to wear or keep the rose quartz crystal near you, drop your favorite essential oil on it, as a reminder to keep the loving light flowing. Happy Full Moon, Enjoy!

10 Tips for Spring Cleaning with Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon essential oil is one of my favorites. I love drinking it in my water, enjoying a cup of warm water with a few drops of lemon and honey. I put it on my vacuum cleaner bag and in the diffuser when cleaning. I use it to get marker off wood and walls. It is also great on dry erase boards. There are so many different uses for this amazing uplifting oil. It is Spring time and I am always looking for something to motivate me. It takes me a long time to get some area's of the house done. It happens to all of us.

There is nothing better then cleaning with essential oils! I know I am providing a toxic free environment for my family.

Here are some great tips for cleaning with Lemon Essential Oil.

1. Microwave—Microwaves are notorious for being tough to clean, especially after mishaps
involving spaghetti sauce or tomato soup. To ease the pain of cleaning, simply microwave a cup
filled with water and a few drops of Lemon, then wipe clean!

2. Dishwasher—Pour distilled vinegar into a dish and add 5–10 drops of Lemon oil. Place this
dish in your empty dishwasher and run on high. This is amazing and the classes are spotless and we have very hard water.

3. Stove Top—Lemon oil makes cleaning one of the dirtiest areas of the kitchen easy. Add
vinegar and Lemon to a spray bottle, and watch the grime disappear!

4. Appliances—From dust to greasy food spills, appliances collect more dirt than you might
think. A simple solution of Lemon oil, water, and vinegar will help you clean toasters,
refrigerators, mixers, stainless steel and more.

5. Garbage disposal—If you’ve been smelling something funky coming from your sink, it might
be time to clean the garbage disposal. This DIY for Lemon disposal refreshers should help! I put a few drops down it every few days.

6. Ceiling Fan—Fan blades collect dust at turbo speeds and cling to them for as long as you let
them. To avoid choking on dust bunnies while cleaning your ceiling fans, spray the inside of an
old pillow case with a Lemon/water mixture and loop the fabric around each blade.

7. Washing Machine—Run a mixture of Lemon oil, baking soda, vinegar, and water through
your empty machine on the hottest setting to break up dirt build-up and mildew. Scrub any
excess with a sponge, then run the machine again with fresh water.

8. Trash Cans—Regularly cleaning out trash cans can eliminate odor. For indoor trash cans,
spray the inside and outside of each can with a mixture of water, Lemon oil, and vinegar, then
scrub with a sponge.

9. Windows and Windowsills—The same mixture of Lemon oil, water, and vinegar in a spray
bottle that you’ve been using all around the house will do wonders for your windows and
windowsills. Simply spray glass and wipe with a clean cloth or paper towel, then move onto
ledges and sills with a toothbrush or damp sponge.

10. Air Vents—One of the most overlooked areas to keep clean in your home is the air you
breathe! Clean vents with a sponge dipped in warm water, vinegar and Lemon oil to help
eliminate allergens and dust from filling the air around you.

Lemon oil acts as a powerful cleaning agent and the possibilities are truly endless! Share this
post and let us know how you like to clean with Lemon oil.

CBD vs. doTERRA Copaiba Essential Oil and Uses

The Copaiba has been a great addition to our essential oil collection, we are so grateful to doterra for bringing us this oil. We use it daily in our water or rubbing it on our necks topically. I use it on my mother and have her drink it in her water. My mother suffers from Dementia. I also do the same with my husband who suffers from a Brain Injury. I love it in my water, but mostly use it on neck and shoulders. It really helps with anxious feelings so I love to diffuse into the air with Frankincense. I rub it on my children’s necks before sending them off to school. See my blog post on our experiment with my kids.

For those of you who are CBD oil lovers, I invite you to try the Copiaba oil! Below I will explain CBD vs. Copaiba. We are EXCITED to have this oil in our home because it is powerful for our brains and nervous systems.

About Copaiba
Copaiba is extracted from copaiba trees in the Amazon rainforest. The essential oil is steam distilled from the copaiba oleoresin, a substance made up of resin and essential oils. The collection process of the oleoresin is unique among essential oils—it is tapped from the tree in a similar way to how maple trees are for their syrup. The oleoresin is then steam distilled to produce the essential oil.

Copaiba’s main chemical component is beta-caryophyllene, a chemical similar to cannabinoids found in cannabis that may protect nerve cells and have benefits for the cardiovascular and immune systems.*

What is a Cannabinoid?
Cannabinoids: Any chemical compound that affects one or both cannabinoid receptors in the human body, CB1 or CB2. Some cannabinoids are legal (CBD and those found in essential oils) and some, like THC from cannabis/marijuana, are not …

What are the 3 types of Cannabinoids:

CBD: CBD, or CannaBiDiol, is a naturally occurring component of the cannabis and hemp plants. CBD made from hemp has a low concentration around 2-4%. If derived from cannabis/marijuana CBD has a higher concentration around 5-30%. All CBD extractions contain some amount of THC (the part of the plant that makes you feel high) though some are low enough to be legal in our country.  CBD is often said to be legal in all 50 states but that is controversial. Benefits include pain relief, reduces anxiety, effective against cancer, treats seizures and other neurological issues, prevention of diabetes through lower insulin levels and promotes cardiovascular health. This is the power of cannabinoids! (source)
THC: THC, or TetraHydroCannabinol, is also a naturally occurring compound in the cannabis plant. This is the party of the plant that makes people feel high when they smoke marijuana or use products that contain THC. Supplements that contain THC are only legal in a few states. THC resembles another cannabinoid naturally produced in our brains, anandamide, which regulates our mood, sleep, memory, and appetite. (source) Hence the reason THC makes you relaxed … and hungry.
BCP: BCP, or Beta-CaryoPhyllene, is the dietary cannabinoid found in doTERRA’s Copaiba oil. Not only is it in Copaiba essential oil its in doTERRA’s in very high amounts – 60%!!! While this is a different type of cannabinoid than CBD it directly affects the same CB2 receptors in amazing ways and is present in a much higher amount. It’s also found in lower levels in other essential oils, in lower amounts, like Black Pepper and Melissa.

What are cannabinoid receptors?

We all have cannabinoid receptors in our bodies and they are super important. They are found all over the body, in the brain, organs, tissues, glands and immune cells. In each tissue, the cannabinoid system performs different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis. We have two different types of receptors – CB1 and CB2.
CB1, predominantly present in the nervous system, connective tissues, gonads, glands, and organs; and CB2, predominantly found in the immune system and its associated structures. Many tissues contain both CB1 and CB2 receptors, each linked to a different action. (source)
The CB1 receptors are the ones that THC interacts with and causes psychotropic effects.
The CB2 receptors are the ones that do not make you “high” when affected. These are the target when using CBD oil and Copaiba essential oil. CBD actually indirectly interacts with CB2 receptors while the main constituent of Copaiba interacts directly. CB2 receptors are found mostly in the immune system, and they seem to reduce inflammation and certain kinds of pain.
In Summery CBD vs Copaiba oil. Copaiba is ..
 * Much less expensive than CBD
 * 100% drug free with zero risk of containing THC and 100% legal
 * Not from the cannabis plant so using Copaiba has 0% chance of affecting a drug test

DoTERRA does more testing than any other company in the world. So you know it is free of pesticides, heavy metals and contaminants.

Favorite Uses

Copaiba is a versatile oil. See some of our favorite ways to use Copaiba below:
1.      Keep your skin clear and clean while reducing the appearance of blemishes by adding Copaiba to your toner or by applying it directly to skin before applying moisturizer.

2.      Copaiba blends well with Roman Chamomile, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Frankincense, or Ylang Ylang. Using any of these oils that appeal to you, create your own personal fragrance in a roller bottle, and then fill the rest of the bottle with Fractionated Coconut Oil.

3.      Most of the body can benefit from Copaiba—it supports the cardiovascular, immune, digestive, nervous, and immune system.* To take advantage of these benefits for any of these systems, add one to two drops to water, juice, or make your own tea using warm water and honey.

4.      When you’re facing a stressful day ahead or feeling worried, diffusing Copaiba’s woody scent can help calm any anxious feelings you may be experiencing.

5.      Take one to two drops in a veggie capsule to take advantage of the antioxidants—the substance that stops potential damage to your cells from oxidation.*

6.      Use in a calming bath by adding two to three drops to body wash before mixing it in the water.
